Ray was born in Alpharetta Georgia and grew up in the town of Griffin. He's the 7th of 10 children and started singing at an early age, as his family grew up in Pentecostal churches. They all enjoyed music and singing and often sang hymns together at home when he was a child.
He began singing in a band at 17. My brother, Chuck Brannon, and him, along with Tony Wilcher, started the SOUL-JERS band in Atlanta and over a short period of time, they became very popular.
Ray have been in music for many years and have written and recorded a number of songs which have not been widely heard, but are very important to him. So he want to share them with those who can appreciate songs that have come from his life experiences and which express his feelings, his hopes and heart's desires.
